Life: Must be Present to Win

In today's fast-paced world, the concept of "being present" often seems like a luxury rather than a necessity. It is also the buzzword of the day. For good reason, the ability to be fully engaged in the moment can transform our lives, relationships, and overall well-being. So, what does it mean to be present, and how can we cultivate this invaluable skill? Let’s dive into the art of embracing the now.

Understanding Presence - From Head to Heart

Being present means you are fully engaged with what is happening now. It’s about dropping out of your thoughts and your mind, and into your heart and feelings. It is about bringing your attention to all that is around you. Letting memories and past events fade from view and releasing future plans and anxieties about what will happen next. You can literally put your heart in charge of the moment and see how it can partner with the mind to be more effective in getting your desires met.

The Benefits of Being Present

  • Improved Mental Health: Mindfulness can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression by grounding us in the present rather than being overwhelmed by past or future concerns.

  • Enhanced Relationships: When we are truly present with others, we listen more intently, empathize more deeply, and build stronger, more authentic connections.

  • Increased Productivity: Focusing on one task at a time, without the distractions of multitasking, leads to higher efficiency and better outcomes.

  • Greater Enjoyment of Life: By savoring each moment, we find joy and appreciation in even the simplest experiences.

Practical Tips for Cultivating Presence

  • Visualization: Imagine a beautiful, golden magnet above your head. It has the ability to heal and repair energy. Request that it call all of your energy back, from all directions of time and space. Once it is full, visualize it dropping into the top of your head, dissolving back into your field, bringing you into the present moment.

  • Mindful Breathing: Take a few minutes each day to focus on your breath. Notice the sensation of inhaling and exhaling, and let it anchor you to the present moment.

  • Set Intentions: Before engaging in an activity or conversation, set a clear intention to be fully present and attentive.

  • Limit Distractions: Create a distraction-free environment by turning off notifications, setting aside dedicated time for tasks, and practicing digital detoxes.

  • Engage Your Senses: Pay attention to what you see, hear, smell, taste, and touch. This sensory awareness helps ground you in the here and now.

  • Practice Gratitude: Reflect on the things you're grateful for in the present moment. This simple practice can shift your focus from what's missing to what's abundant in your life.

Manifesting with Presence

Presence can help you manifest what you desire faster and more efficiently. When you make a request from the Universe, but keep moving ahead as if the request will not be answered, you miss the opportunities the Universe is providing. Meaning, if you are always moving, planning, and straining to get out of where you are, and resisting what is, the Universe cannot deliver what you are manifesting. This is because it brings your request to where you were, not wherever you have pulled yourself to.

Here is an example, let’s say you are wishing for the perfect job. You put the request in, and then search and apply for every job you possibly can, even if it isn't perfect. This means you don't believe your request for the perfect job is possible, so you keep moving ahead as if it isn't. In the meantime, the perfect opportunity just arrived at your door, but you were at an interview for that not-so-perfect job and missed it. If you put in a request, trust that it will come. If you can't trust it, don't blame the Universe for not delivering it to you. You gave it the wrong address!

This is not to say that you don’t have to put your part in to manifest the perfect job. You have things to do - but be present with those things. Sometimes, stillness and doing nothing is the thing for you to do. When you stay present and in the moment, what you need to do in order to get that perfect job becomes more clear.

Here’s an exercise for some inspiration: Where have you put in a request to the Universe and gave up on it happening? Go back to that request and be fully in heart, be present with it. Look at how far away you have moved from the original request and get present with it again. Trusting that the Universe wants what you want, ask yourself what you need to do now and what you need to stop doing.

Dream big, expect the best, and plan for your gifts to be delivered to the energetic address called “NOW.”
