Third Eye Chakra

The sixth chakra is the intuition chakra located between your eyebrows on your forehead. It is referred to as many thing and hold a lot of weight in many religions that practice meditation and self realization.

The sixth has represented many things for me. One of them being a mind overworked with worry and the illusion of the struggle life holds. I have struggled with trying to "understand" the meaning of life, the essence of God and why I am really here.

“There is nothing to understand, to understand has nothing to do with the spiritual truth you seek." - Leanne’s guides

THE ISSUES

Our inner truth is sacred and critical to relationship to reality. Here are common influencers of the sixth chakra:

·       Mental Mind

·       Education

·       Relationship with Truth

·       Visions

·       Intuition

·       Career and Direction in Life

What I've found in this chakra as I have read people is mostly about trusting your own impulses, taking risks to follow your visions and allowing your intuition to guide.  People get really caught up in trying to “know” things or “understand” them and it can sometimes distraction them from a bigger, more profound message that is trying to come.

So rather than tell you how to quiet your mind and get in touch with your higher self, which I know many of you struggle with, as do I at times. My inspiration to you is to notice what you already hold as your higher truth and see who much you engage that truth with your presence on the planet AND the NOW.

THE EMOTIONS

This chakra is really helpful to clear out and balance if you experience a lot of sleep issues, lack of direction, or impulse control issues.

It is also very helpful to focus on when you want to feel clear, trust yourself and understand your deeper why.

Intuition is your birth right.

Intuition is your birth right.

It is most beneficial to focus on what you want to feel, not what you don't want to feel. So if you have identified a patter of impulse control issues, lack of direction or otherwise see if you can first stop and ask “is this my impulse or something I think should be my impulse?”

For example, if you're feeling lost about what kind of direction you want to take with a relationship, start with listening to the shoulds. What do you think you “should” do and then ask why you think that is. Unravel that messaging that is more about what was programmed into your, rather than your true impulse.

Nothing is as important as we make it, especially if we are feeling disconnected, weary, scared, or just plain bad. Dig into the lies you tell yourself and see if you can let go of some of them. See if you can shrink the story down in your mind and take it piece by piece rather than the whole thing having to be solved right now.

PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS

The physical symptoms of a sixth chakra imbalance are a little more subtle than others. When it is balanced you feel in tune, clear, wise and open to your own wisdom and the wisdom around you.

When you have an imbalance, many symptoms can come up. This is just to name a few:

·       Brain Fog

·       Headaches

·       Dizziness or Vertigo

·       Confusion

·       Poor Vision

When you body is talking to you about an imbalance though pain or discomfort, give it attention in a loving way. We often try and shame our bodies back into functioning properly. Instead, love it first and ask what it needs. Give it gratitude for holding onto the imbalance and making you aware of it.

You can't make positive changes if you are disgusted with or shaming yourself. First you need to accept yourself and know you are doing the best you can, and then go from there.

THE PEOPLE IN OUR LIVES

Believe it or not, people can plug into our chakras and draw off energy from us. They can do it to us while in our presence or not.

When people are cording into your sixth chakra, it is often to try and understand how you think or get ideas from you. It can also be a cord to get your attention or keep your attention focused on them.

Often times employers, especially those relying on the intellectual abilities of their employees, will cord into the sixth chakra or you will voluntarily give that energy away for approval and a paycheck.

If you are in a co-dependent relationship, it is likely one person is over taking another’s sixth chakra and the other one is allowing it to happen. If you are trying to get out of a relationship that you can’t stop thinking about, it might be time to investigate a sixth chakra block.

THE BALANCING ACT

So how do you balance all this out? Meditation is always a great way to tune into your energy systems. Especially for the sixth chakra.

But if you are not a big meditator, here are some other ideas.

·       Surround yourself with people who are tune with their truth and honor yours as an expansion of theirs. People who are open minded.

·       Create time in your day to journal or take notes of your values and priorities.

·       Eat food rich in iodine such as kale, almonds, seaweed, etc.

·       Connect with nature your intuition and the mystical happenings around you.

·       Chant OM (sound for the sixth chakra).

·       Visualize reaching out and feeling into all things around you. Find wisdom in the simple.

There are many videos and meditations out there and everyday is growing.

This is one I like:

Steve Nobel’s affirmations to activate higher self potential.

Here are some affirmations for the sixth chakra.

·       "I trust my truth."

·       "My intuition is a gift, only for me, to support me to lead my best life."

·       "I am intuitive."

·       "I love my wisdom and allow it to guide my life."

If you find any resistance to those affirmations above, that is also a good indication that your root chakra is blocked. Dig in and find out why you are resistant and what you are telling yourself instead.

Happy Healing!
