Healing Guidance Form our Universal Mother

A Book By Alana Fairchild

THE AUTHOR

I am familiar with Alana Fairchild’s oracle decks and have greatly enjoyed her Kuan Yin Oracle deck.  When I met her, her energy was radiant and balanced, which is always lovely to encounter.

Throughout the book, she talked about her journey and encounters as a healer and a seeker. She has published several books, healing music, meditations, and oracle card decks.

On her website, she talks about being invited into the mysteries and teachings of many and varied spiritual traditions from around the world. She reports having had many unusual, synchronistic, situations brought to her journey of gaining spiritual wisdom.

She begins the book with an introduction with a message about how she was called to write this book by universal mother, Kuan Yin.

THE BOOK

Well first off, this book is coffee table worthy. It is beautiful, with a thick, hardbound cover. The paper in the book is luxuriously thick and each page had beautiful edges, not often found it books I read of this nature. There is full color, beautiful artwork throughout is enjoyable to pick up and look at over and over.

This book introduces you to the various versions of Kuan Yin. The book describes Kuan Yin as “an ancient divine being and an enlightened spiritual guardian.” The author asserts you can use her power in combination with your religion or if you have no religion at all.

The book is broken up into two parts. The first part is introducing you to Kuan Yin and the various types of magic she can bring to your life.  It covers the protections she can provide, the forms she takes and various ways to call upon her.

The second part is healing practices you can do yourself to call upon this healing energy. This includes purifications, alignment, activations, and transmission.

The book is broken into smaller sections, so you can just open to a section and make use of the information, rather than reading it cover to cover. However, if you are not familiar with Kuan Yin, I do think reading the whole thing through once first, is helpful.

The author gives useful stories and examples of her work with Kuan Yin as well as practical tips even a beginner can use. If you are inclined to work with mantras, there are several given, as ways to work with energy.

MY TAKE

This book is beautiful and deserves a spot on your coffee table, next to all the books you have half-read…at least it is beautiful.

In all seriousness, if you are drawn to work with divine goddess energy, this book is for you. It has a gentle feel to it and although it is a book on working with etheric energies and might fall under “new age,” it is grounded and has the feel of ancient truths reemerging.

This book is not a “self-help” book as much as it is a textbook for working with divine feminine energies. I could see this book being assigned in a classroom, to study divine energies. On a practical matter, if you are looking for a new way to call in energy and work with it, in the form of prayer, this book will give you a jumping-off point.

MY FAVORITE PARTS

The beauty of the book is one of my favorite parts. It just feels luxurious to hold and read. I feel like I am reading an elevated art book with the added value of ancient, goddess wisdom.

I love part two the best. I am all about practical applications. The author gives you easy to use, quick to access mantras to use to protect yourself, clear negative energies and heal and protect your home or space. There is also a section of mudras, or hand positions, with pictures to facilitate the flow of energy through your body.
